De Aura Designs Presents “BROKEN” in Celebration of International Women’s Day
De Aura design wows us yet again with her latest collection called BROKEN in celebration of international Women’s day. The collection showcases three key pieces including a lemon green jumpsuit, a two piece pant suit and a dress with fringe details. Also the brand celebrates the black African hair in Bantu knots with print strings and a multi-colour print inspired earring.
As an avid consumer of both European and African fashion, I am glad local brands are embracing the beauty of their environment and incorporating it into their designs.
According to Grace Fidel creative direction of the brand, Broken is a collection inspired by the struggles of the African woman. This depicts the woman who has gone through every form of devastation.
Her difficulties and struggles in life are the very events that symbolises her beauty and strength.
Furthermore, the hard skin under her feet, is a representation of the beauty in the African woman’s struggle.
