Where To Dine In London: Christmas Dinner Recommendations

Chritmas Dinner with Sonya and Cynthia has been one of the highlights of my holidays. It is always fun to meet up with friends who share a common interest and catch up outside our busy lives. As always, I had Cynthia set up a dinner date. With her expensive taste and great knowledge of London, Cynthia booked us a table at The North at Corinthia Hotel London.

The beautiful restaurant is situated North of the Corinthia hotel in the heart of London and right across the famous Picadilly Circus. Across is the London Eye and many of London’s top touristic attractions. We sat down for dinner after hugs, laughter and a few pictures. Cynthia opted for Smoked Salmon Mousse, Watercress Shallot Salad, Rye Crisp. Meanwhile, Sonya and myself went Gem Wedge “Caesar Salad”, Salted Anchovies, Parmesan Emulsion, hard-boiled Hen’s Egg. The Starters

The Mains

We ordered our mains straight after the starters. What made it even more special was, we had a complimentary glass of champaign each from the set menu. This time, the girls went for the Slow-cooked Pork Belly, Apple Sauce, Chamomile-buttered Cabbage, Juniper Jus. On the other hand, I decided to try the Roast Sea Bream, Creamed Potato, Warm Potted Brown Shrimp, Samphire. Inspite of how much I enjoyed the dinner, I still could not help the fact the cream pototo was a little creamy for me.

Deserts

Need I say desert was my favourite part of our dinner? By this time, I was full belly from the bread, salad, and mains. However after tasting the delightful Pumpkin Seed Crumble Ice Cream, Co ee Meringue I went in deep. I am not a big eater but this Christmas dinner desert went down to the last seed. We posed at the foyer infront of the piano for some girlie pictures to mark our Christmas dinner date. The pianist was also an experienced photographer and was kind to play with my Canon camera.

We had such a chilled out time talking about everything but nothing. If you are looking for an uptown location for fine dinning then this is it. The calm, the warmth and very friendly and polite staff will make your visit so worth it. 

The lows on this experience was asking for nibbles. We had to request for the home made bread which I personally did not like the fact we had to ask. On the bright side, Sonya absolutely enjoyed them.

The bread was fresh, warm and we were served two sharing portions. Also, walking all the way to the main hotel reception to pay the bill was a little bit of a pain. The payment system was down which took us another route to get our bill paid.
