Pairing stripes
It’s summer!!!! I know summer is already a couple of months in but I only realised how much of it had gone by when I discovered I haven’t put out a summer style outfit for you guys.
Any hoo, for those in the fashion game, wearing stripes is never the go-to choice. Acing a stripe- filled outfit is also not as pretty as it sounds. Therefore, for the ultimate summer challenge, I decided to be black and bold and do the unthinkable. I went for not one, but two striped clothes of opposing hues.
SUMMER STYLE
It all began with the wide legged pants which was about to go in the trash till I realised I should have some fun with it before making it another person’s problem. The red long sleeved v-neck sweater was definitely not my first choice but pulling off an outfit like this takes all day. And yes, I had all day as I was going for something casual , yet sophisticated. I never do JUST casual.
Therefore, nothing gets more sophisticated than a pair of Louboutin Pumps. I took care with the choice of colour for my pumps as this is where I could either make or mar my outfit. Nothing neutralises this chemical reaction of stripes like the black pumps I chose.
How To Style Bold Patterns And Colours
Casual meant casual-ish all the way. So, having dressed up, I realised my outfit had that vintage vibe with the wide legged pants I had on. Therefore, I decided to play along by letting my Afro go wild and free. Also, with a casual look, you don’t need to go all Tom Cruise on jewellery. So, I had the simplest jewellery laid out.
Remember, it won’t be summer without a cool pair of sunglasses so,my black sunglasses kept my black pumps company. When I was all done, I took a look at my mirror and knew at that exact moment , I was gonna kill the rest of summer or whatever was left of it.
Just in case you were wondering, the striped pants never made it to the bin.
