Anniesa Hasibuan a fashion designer from Indonesia has made her debut into fashion week by matching an army of gorgeous models down the catwalk all in the full head gear known as the hijab. This is the first time a full show of women wearing the hijab has walked the runway thereby making it history and very significant because it brings fashion inclusiveness for women across all cultures wishing to show their style, trends on the global fashion scene.
28 year old Annexes is the first Indonesian fashion designer to be included in New York Fashion Week.She first made headlines at the Westfield Festival in London in 2015 where she showcased the kaftan. This is what we call breaking boundaries in fashion. It is amazing to see such a young person working hard to reach for the stars. We hope to see more African fashion designers also breaking through in fashion.
